Factional candidate urges support for PDP
Factional governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Matthew Iduoriyekemwen is seeking the support of party members, saying he remains the authentic candidate for the poll.
The candidate, who belongs to the Ali Modu- Sheriff’s faction, said he was happy that the PDP candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is indirectly campaigning for him.
Iduoriyekemwen disclosed that he would kick-off his campaigns later this week, citing last week’s Federal High Court ruling in Lagos as alibi.
According to him, “INEC committed a serious blunder, but it has no choice than to give me what rightfully belongs to me, after the court ruling which recognised Modu- Sheriff as the authentic chairman of the party.
“Ize-Iyamu has been campaigning for me, that is good, after all we are all PDP members. So I am urging all Edo people to go out on September 10 to vote for me as the candidate recognised by law.
He said there was no place for a caretaker committee in the party’s constitution.
“I urged Edo people to remain resolute in their support for me, as we continue to work towards the election. They should not be deterred; we will run an all-inclusive government,” he said.
“We are going to power the society through women. We urged our members to continue to campaign ahead of the election, as we plan to hold the mother of all rallies next week,” he added.
