A Nigerian fashion line, AboutThatCurvyLife, is set to hold a show for plus size products in Lagos. It is to mark Fashion and Design Week.

The event, which begins today and ends on Saturday, October 29, 2016, is expected to feature five contemporary plus fashion brands consisting of four women’s wear lines and one men’s.

Founder, Latasha Ngwube, who disclosed this at a press conference yesterday at ZAZAII showroom in Victoria Island, said the selected brands to showcase in the collective include Maki Olugbile for Makioba, Osa Aisien for MaBello Clothier, Tobi Ogundipe for Tosfa, Aisha Achonu for Aisha Abu-Bakr Luxury and Matthew Idang for Assian.

She said that each designer would be presenting six looks, culminating in a 30-piece strong catwalk.

Ngwube said: “ All over the world, there has been a spotlight on body positivity and fashion inclusion for more than just runway sizes. This year’s theme of ‘Connecting the dots’ is more than just a catchy phrase and we are glad to be a part of Heineken LFDW 2016, thanks to Intel.”

Speaking at the briefing, the designers expressed their excitement at taking part in the groundbreaking collective and their aspiration for the local plus fashion industry.

Ngwube further said that the designers had been working with veteran model, Andy Ogbechi of AA Squared Network, whose expertise had proved invaluable for the models for the catwalk.

She also added that Style Mania magazine Editor, Godson Ukaegbu, was also working with the designers to ensure their first outing at fashion week goes well.
