The meeting between the Federal Government and officials of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) yesterday night ended without a resolution.

Presided over by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, the meeting lasted over three hours. At the end, the National President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, said the meeting to resolve the strike which began on November 4, 2018, would continue at a later date.

Meanwhile, members of the House of Representatives Committee on Tertiary Education have expressed concern over the ongoing strike.

Chairman of the committee, Aminu Suleiman, who led members on an oversight visit to the Ministry of Education, appealed to the Federal Government and ASUU to go beyond resolving the strike by providing lasting solutions that would make industrial action in the education sector a thing of the past.
