FG spends N5b on healthcare in North East
The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, yesterday said the Federal Government had in the last three years spent over N5 billion to address health needs of children, pregnant women as well the elderly and most vulnerable persons in the North East.
Speaking at a one-day dialogue on response to crisis situations in Nigeria, the minister explained that a large portion of the fund went for procurement of medicines and health related supplies besides supporting at least 350 healthcare providers at every phase of the project.
He observed that health was prioritised in the President Muhammadu Buhari’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan as a veritable tool for the socio-economic development of the nation.
