FG to enroll corps members on NHIS nationwide

To this end, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is collaborating with the Scheme to improve healthcare services to serving corps members throughout their one-year mandatory service year.

The Federal Government, yesterday, disclosed that it was working on the modality of enrolling all serving corps members on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) nationwide to provide them unhindered access to better health care services.

To this end, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is collaborating with the Scheme to improve healthcare services to serving corps members throughout their one-year mandatory service year.

Speaking during a meeting of the two bodies at the NYSC Directorate headquarters in Abuja, Director General of the NYSC, Brig-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure, appealed for a comprehensive health package for corps members.

Kazaure expressed the readiness of the scheme to work with the NHIS, while welcoming the idea of posting NHIS desk-officers to all hospitals across the country to enlighten Nigerians on their rights pertaining to the health insurance scheme.
