FG will recapitalise bank of industry to fund agric enterprises – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu on Friday said the Federal Government would recapitalise the Bank of Industry (BOI) so as to make more funds available for agricultural enterprises in the country.

Tinubu stated this in Katsina State during the commissioning of some projects executed by the Governor Dikko Radda administration. The president said the bank would be revitalised to make small, medium and large scale funding available to boost agriculture across the country.

“The Bank of Industry is being revitalised. We will recapitalise the bank to make large, medium scale funding available to our agricultural enterprises and all those who are interested in working to ensure food sovereignty,” the president said.

Tinubu said Nigerians should rest assured that the government was not resting but making diligent efforts to ensure food security in the country. The president also used the occasion to assure the state governor of the Federal Government’s unwavering support for his efforts to tackle banditry and related criminality in the state.

“I know you face the challenge of terrorism and banditry, but with the strong determination and great effort that you’ve committed into the progress of rebuilding Katsina State, you will not work alone. The Federal Government will be with you,” he added.

He said the government remains committed to completing the second phase of the Katsina-Kano road, adding that bureaucracy and related challenges which kept the work from progressing had been addressed. He said the government plans to complete the Kano-Katsina-Maradi rail project by 2026, adding that the project would ease pressure on roads when completed.

Tinubu also said a major road network that links several council areas in the state had been awarded, saying that work had since begun in parts of the state.

He stated that more projects would soon come up in the state, stressing that the Federal Government remains committed to improving the wellbeing of people in the state and country as a whole.

On his part, Radda commended Tinubu for the visit, adding that it was encouraging and would help to showcase what his administration has been doing to better the lot of the people of the state.
