
Theater Commander, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), Maj-Gen. Gold Chibuisi, has tasked troops to fight terrorism and banditry professionally with humility to end war in the Northeast.
According to him, the non-kinetic approaches comprise 75 per cent of the counter-terrorism operations in Sambisa Forest and the Lake Chad region.
Chibuisi tasked the troops, yesterday, while decorating five promoted Colonels to the rank of Brigadier Generals at the Theatre Com
mand Officers’ Mess, Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.
He said three other officers from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Immigration and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), were also promoted from Deputy Superintendent to the next rank of Superintendents.
“The promotions to higher ranks are your rewards for hard work in the frontlines of theatre of war,” he said, adding that their mindsets are the transit to higher level of fighting terrorism professionally in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.
He charged them that to also prepare their mindsets become leaders in the various frontlines of operations in the region. Speaking on soldiers’ welfare, he said: “The promoted officers should adopt “humility, empathy and patience” while taking critical decisions that affect troops’ moral and professionalism.”
He, therefore, urged them to show concern on each and every soldier in boosting their moral, to end the war.
The promoted Army officers include, M.A. Abdullahi, O.O. Owolabi, M.A. Kana, EN. Akpan and M. Muhammed, while Abubakar Sadik Jauro, Abdullahi Yusuf and Adam Baba Goni of the Immigration, NCoS and Civil Defense were respectively promoted to the higher rank of Superintendent.
