Firm empowers Makoko community, donates learning materials

One of the leading culinary firms, GBfoods, has reaffirmed commitment to Corporate Social Investment through transformative initiatives in the Makoko community by empowering women and students in the area.

Items donated include notebooks, a generator, school bags, water bottles, food and water for the students. The firm also donated its flagship brands to women in the community to foster independence, self-sufficiency and poverty eradication among them.

Speaking during a visit to the community, its Managing Director, Vincent Egbe, who visited the KHAN Foundation School, pledged financial assistance towards paying teachers’ salaries. He said the initiative underscores GBfoods’ unwavering dedication to cultivating a thriving educational environment.

He added that by donating essential resources and supporting sustainable development, the firm is actively contributing to the creation of stronger and self-sufficient communities.

Some of the teachers and students appreciated the gesture, adding that it will go a long way at improving educational development and poverty alleviation in the community.
