Firms partner on coding, robotics to revolutionise education

A major player in the education technology sector, EduPoint, has partnered with VBank, Leap Africa, Hewlett Packard (HP), Doculand and Vines Realty, to organise coding, robotics competition alongside debates and quizzes for secondary school students.

A major player in the education technology sector, EduPoint, has partnered with VBank, Leap Africa, Hewlett Packard (HP), Doculand and Vines Realty, to organise coding, robotics competition alongside debates and quizzes for secondary school students.
  
Speaking at a media parley in Lagos, the co-founder, Oscar Obiora, said the RoboCode Fest 2.0, themed, ‘Winning to Make Impact to the People and Planet,’ would engage students within the age of 11 to 16 years.
  
The first six winners are to get prizes, with the top three carting home N500,000, N300,000 and N200,000 specifically. The cash prizes for the others are to be shared among the students and schools. 
  
The challenge, which focuses on health, education, transport, election, fashion, agriculture, real estate, waste and recycling, would witness 300 applicants undergoing pre-qualifying rounds from September 26 to 27. The debate and quiz will be held on September 30. 
  

The grand finale is to take place on November 25.  Executive Director for Product and Marketing, VFD Microfinance Bank, Winifred Allision, noted: “VBank is dedicated to supporting initiatives that bring positive change to society. Our partnership with EduPoint aligns perfectly with our vision, as education is a powerful tool that has the potential to transform lives.”

Senior Programmes Manager, LEAP Africa, Osarume Akenzua, canvassed investment in children, who he termed the future of the nation, adding that their participation in the competition testifies that they are leaders.
