In a bid to address food insecurity in Nigeria, Glo Foundation has partnered with the Lagos Food Bank to provide relief to vulnerable communities across the country.
Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Glo Foundation, Ufuoma Dogun, who spoke at an event at the weekend in Bariga, Lagos State, emphasised the urgency of addressing hunger, describing it as a global challenge that requires collective action.
He noted that the initiative aligns with the Foundation’s commitment to giving back to the individuals and communities that have supported the organisation over the years.
Dogun added that the project would be extended to other parts of the country, ensuring a broader impact across different sectors.
Also, Executive Director of Lagos Food Bank, Michael Sunbola, commended Globacom for investing in the initiative, noting that sustainable change can only be achieved through collaborative efforts.
He said that no single organisation could solve all societal problems, but when different initiatives on empowerment or direct relief work together, they could drive meaningful change.
Sunbola also encouraged other corporate bodies to join similar efforts in supporting underprivileged communities.
One of the beneficiaries, Eunice Kehinde, commended the Foundation for extending its support to the community and making a tangible difference in people’s lives.
She noted that feeding her family had become increasingly difficult, and the food pack from Glo Foundation would provide much-needed relief for the coming weeks.
