Foundation unveils new logo at anniversary dinner
As part of activities to commit to continually impact the communities it operate, MTN Foundation unveiled a new logo during its 20th anniversary dinner.
While providing insight about the new logo at the dinner, the Executive Director of the foundation, Mrs. Odunayo Sanya said that the foundation believes everyone deserves a well connected life
She highlighted some of the impact the foundation has made across communities in Nigeria, disclosing that not less than 14000 scholarships have been given. She noted that the foundation has not done it alone as it has built connection with local partners to ensure the sustainability of the projects.
Sanya said that the ultimate for the foundation is envisioning a Nigeria where no community is left behind, revealing that the change in purpose, vision and mission of the foundation is encapsulated in the new logo.
Providing details about the logo, she said that the humans in the logo represent the communities and the people it partners with, saying it is about togetherness and shared prosperity.
In his speech, the acting Chairman of MTN Foundation, Dennis Okoro, said that the foundation has embodied the spirit of innovation and excellence, fostering sustainable development across Nigeria, through improving access to education and healthcare.
He stated that the foundation has played a vital role in enhancing the quality of lives in various communities it sited projects and executed programmes, revealing over N30 billion in 3223 communities nationwide.
“Your support fuels our passion to continue to strive for innovation, it is not only a celebration of achievement but a renewal of our commitment to the good works.
We commended the foundation for its extraordinary contribution,” Okoro said.
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade & Investment (MCCTI), Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, who applauded the foundation for its works, said the impact of the foundation is seen across the country.
Sanwo-Olu added that the projects executed resonant with his administration’s agenda, noting that the foundation has set a powerful standard. “It shows that when we collaborate, we can meet the needs of our people.”
There were testimonials from beneficiaries of MTN Foundation projects and programmes.
The Oniro of Otu Community, Itesiwaju Local Council, Oyo State, Oba Sunday Oyetunde Adepoju, thanked MTN foundation for improving the lots of residents of his community, as the renovation and equipping of the community’s health centre has helped to reduce mortality rate. He implored the foundation to continue its good work
Oluwafunmilola Shelika, CEO of Gef’s smoked edibles, talked about how MTN Foundation support for her through the Y’ellopreneur initiative helped grow her business.
“We were taught to do business plans and prepare pitches for grants. The learnings from the training have been really helpful in formalizing my business,” she said.
