Four die, 13 Injured in Lagos-Ibadan auto crash

Four people were yesterday burnt to death, while 13 others sustained injuries in a lone auto crash that occurred around Fidiwo area on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway corridor of Ogun State

Four people were yesterday burnt to death, while 13 others sustained injuries in a lone auto crash that occurred around Fidiwo area on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway corridor of Ogun State
   
The Superintendent Route Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Florence Okpe confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta .
 
She  said that the auto crash involved 18 passengers in a Toyota HIACE bus, which lost control on the highway, somersaulted and burst into flames, burning the four victims beyond recognition
  
Okpe, who attributed the cause of the crash to over speeding on the part of the driver, said that the vehicle’s tyre burst on motion, and went up in flames after somersaulting, resulting in the death of the four.
 
She added the the injured victims had been taken to Victory Hospital  in Ogere and others to Idera  Hospital in Sagamu area of the state

MEANWHILE, the Sector Commander FRSC Ogun, Mr Umar Galadunci, has commiserated with  families of the deceased. He advised motorists to always drive cautiously and check their tyres as well as avoid speed violation.
