FRCM holds divine anniversary service, counts her blessings
As part of the celebration for the 60th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of Faith Revivalists Christian Mission (FRCM) Aladura, the church recently held a divine anniversary service to commemorate when it was founded.
The guest minister at the service, The Provost, Arch Cathedral Bethel, Venerable Dr Oluwasegun Oladosu, delivered the anniversary message with the topic: ‘The Christendom: Jesus Christ, The Eternal Rock of Ages’.
Oladosu emphasised in his sermon the position of Christ in the Church as the Rock and foundation of the Christian faith.
He said Jesus Christ is the only saviour given to mankind by God, who as the Lamb of God, shed His blood as a sacrifice for every man to reconcile the human race with God and key into the Father’s redemption plan.
The cleric made reference to the Roman Emperor (AD 306 – 337), Constantine The Great, the first emperor to convert to Christianity after winning the battle with the cross he saw in a revelation and consequently backed the Christian faith.
Oladosu wondered greatly how the world has crept into the Church and some people making jest with the name of Jesus.
He charged Christians to restore sanity into the fold with the fruits of the Spirit so that the Church would continue to serve as a refuge.
The minister also called on parents to obey Biblical injunctions and uphold the importance of training and disciplining children while the Church would complement, stressing that charity begins at home.
Oladosu called on the government to do what is needful for the citizens as he charged the Church to always tell the politicians the truth when they are reneging from their manifestos.
The Spiritual Head, FRCM (Aladura), His Grace, Olusoagutan Alfred Bamidele Taiwo, said the Church that started December 6, 1962, in a parlour, had grown in leaps and bounds with branches in Abesan Estate and Ibafon, Ogun State.
“My greatest joy today is that God is still upholding this Church and we have not scattered. Those of us that were youth when the Church started is now head of the church according to the prayer of our founding fathers,” he said.
Chairman of, the Organising Committee, Samuel Durojaiye, said the church has remained unique and that Nigerians should vote wisely in the coming election.
The Church as part of the celebration visited S.O.S. Children Village, old people’s home at Yaba, held a musical concert, carried out medical care outreach and ended with an Anniversary Thanksgiving service.
