The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has extolled efforts by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC in the reduction of road crashes in Nigeria.

Consequently, the corps has given an award of recognition for best practices to the firm in the implementation of Nigeria’s Road Transport Safety Standardisation Scheme (RTSSS), in the country.

Presenting the award in Abuja on behalf of the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, the Corps Transport Standardisation Officer, Abiodun Akinlade, said JB won the award for the company’s compliance with the best expectations in applying the stipulated guidelines as stated by the corps transport standardisation office.

He stated that FRSC as a leading agency in road traffic and safety management through RTSSS, introduced certification of fleet operators with a view to minimise avoidable road traffic crashes (RTC), which led to the improvement of  driver’s proficiency and the reduction of  road traffic crashes in the company.

Reacting to the award, Head, Media Relations Office of JBN Plc, Prince Moses Duku, noted that over the years, Julius Berger has committed resources into improving professional competence and safety orientation  of  its operational teams and hundreds of  its drivers.

“For the good reason of our manifest operational scope and geographical spread, Julius Berger is not relenting in its consistently intentional and proactively self-driven safety mandate. It is also to be noted that in the engineering construction sector and its necessarily huge and routine logistical requirements, fleet management and safe deployment of the same is a fundamental necessity for our historically successful overall service delivery,” he said.

Duku said Julius Berger appreciates the award of recognition for best practices in RTSSS, pledging that the company would commit to an ever-improving road safety profile in its professional endeavours.
