FRSC confirms 11 dead in Bauchi auto crash

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has confirmed the death of 11 travellers in an auto crash at Hawan Jaki village on Alkaleri-Gombe Road in Alkaleri Local Council of Bauchi State.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has confirmed the death of 11 travellers in an auto crash at Hawan Jaki village on Alkaleri-Gombe Road in Alkaleri Local Council of Bauchi State.

The Sector Commander, FRSC, Yusuf Abdullahi, told newsmen yesterday that eight other persons sustained injuries in the crash that occurred on Saturday.

According to him, the accident involved a commercial vehicle and an articulated vehicle. Abdullahi attributed the cause of the accident to dangerous driving.

He said: “20 male adults were involved in the fatal road crash. Nine of them lost their lives on the spot, while two were later pronounced dead by medical personnel at the Alkaleri General Hospital.

“Eight others sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at the Alkaleri hospital where corpses of the deceased were deposited,’’ he said.

He warned drivers to always observe traffic rules and regulations while plying the roads.
