The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned that all unregistered vehicle owners are suspects when they are seen driving unregistered vehicles without any record in the FRSC database.

FRSC Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, said registration of vehicles “is of utmost priority, so unregistered vehicles are easily stolen without a trace and the owner may not be able to lay claim to it easily.”

Kazeem said that the FRSC was responsible for ensuring all discrepancies were regularised pertaining to vehicle documents, though other security agencies, including the Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs) were equally authorised to check same documents.

“The FRSC is committed to seeing our patrol teams deliver quality services to the motoring public and most concerned about the behaviors of our operatives on the road,” he said.

Also, the Public Education Officer, FRSC Lagos, Mrs. Olabisi Shonusi, said Drivers’ Licence and other vehicle particulars were certificates drivers and car owners must possess.

Shonusi urged drivers and car owners to always acknowledge and listen to any agency that “stops them on the road to tender their car particulars.”
