Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, is set to deliver the 6th annual lecture of Freedom Online Newspaper on Thursday in Lagos.

The event, themed, ‘Nigeria’s Socio-Political Challenges: Whose Fault, Leaders or the Led?’ will feature distinguished political figures and thought leaders.

In a statement, the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of Freedom Online, Gabriel Akinadewo, confirmed Fubara as the Special Guest Speaker.

The lecture will provide a platform for critical discussions on the pressing issues facing Nigeria’s political landscape. The lecture is aimed at addressing fundamental questions about governance and civic responsibility in Nigeria.

The governor will bring his wealth of experience and leadership insights to the discourse. The former Governor of Ogun State and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, will serve as the Keynote Speaker, while the event will be chaired by a former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olabode George.

Also expected at the lecture are notable personalities such as former Minister of Police Affairs, and retired Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade, who will be the Special Guest of Honour.

Other distinguished guests include Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, and former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dakuku Peterside. Additionally, the Executive Secretary of the Centre for Policy and Development Studies, Ilepa, Ogun State, Prof. Akin Onigbinde, will be in attendance as a Special Guest.
