Ganduje submits N43b supplementary budget for scrutiny approval

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has presented a proposed supplementary budget of N43 billion to the House of Assembly for approval.

Speaker of the House, Hamisu Chidari, explained during plenary, yesterday, that the proposed supplementary budget would be spent on personnel, overhead and capital projects at N2 billion, N7 billion and N33 billion respectively.

The house had also received another letter from the executive, seeking the upgrading of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education to a University of Education.

Last December, Ganduje signed over N221.2 billion into law as the budget for 2022, the last budget of his administration.

Chidari said the request submitted to the House for scrutiny and approval was in line with Section 122 (A and B) of the 1999 Constitution.

Also, the House re-committed Muhammad Abubakar Rimi, Singer and Galadima markets’ management law 2022 for amendment of several sections.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after plenary, Majority Leader of the House, Labaran Madari, said the amendment considered in the committee of the whole included Sections 8 and 10, while “private partners owners” was deleted and “private developers” inserted.
