Gbadamosi, CSOs to tackle corruption
Candidate of Lagos State Chapter of the African Democratic Party (ADP) for the 2019 gubernatorial election, Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi, and some Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have agreed to partner ahead of the next general elections.
While both partners agreed during an interactive session held in Lagos yesterday that lack of accountability by elected and appointed officers are one of the major causes of corruption, which had been the bane to development and economic growth in Nigeria, they also agreed to initiate critical programmes that would lead to massive enlightenment of the Nigerian electorate, especially in Lagos State, on how to scrutinise the intention, seriousness, sincerity, and programmes of those seeking their votes in elections.
Gbadamosi and the CSOs said that not until Nigerian masses are ready to fight corruption and confront those indicted with the necessary force, “graft may not be that easy to uproot in our system.”
