Girl kills self over disagreement with lover in Bayelsa

Tragedy struck in Azikoro, a suburb of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State as 25-year lady killed herslf by swallowing sniper over a disagreement with her lover.

The Guardian learnt that the deceased boyfriend is presently being detained at the Azikoro Police station, over the incident.

The girl whose name could not be ascertained as at press time, was said to be a native of Agbura, while her boyfriend hails from Azikoro Town, both in Yenagoa Council Area.

However, immediately news broke of the lady’s death, some of her relatives stormed the lover’s house and destroyed some of his property and other valuables.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Asinim Butwat, who confirmed the incident, said the lover, identified as Eze Augustus, was already in police custody and investigation into the matter was ongoing.
