Glory Olamigoke, a tech professional and passionate advocate for African youth empowerment, has been making waves in the tech industry through his various initiatives and leadership roles. With a vision to transform Africa’s technological landscape, he has successfully launched programs and platforms that provide valuable knowledge, guidance, and opportunities to thousands of African youths.
As a graduate of Human Anatomy from the University of Ilorin, Glory started his journey in the tech space as a software developer. Recognizing his leadership abilities and project management skills, he transitioned into the role of Product Manager, where he has since made significant contributions to the development of digital products across industries.
Glory’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Cleonify, a digital agency that specializes in building digital infrastructure for businesses, companies, and startups. Under his leadership, Cleonify has successfully executed numerous projects and collaborated with over 50 businesses globally to enhance their digital presence and capabilities.
Driven by a deep passion for empowering African youth with globally relevant digital skills, he launched two remarkable initiatives: CWD Bootcamp and Get Into Tech Africa.
CWD Bootcamp, founded in June 2020, aimed to equip African youths with coding skills and transform them into problem solvers. Through a series of free digital training bootcamps, Glory and his team reached over 700 African youths, empowering them with coding skills and inspiring them to build digital solutions. Many participants have since gone on to establish successful careers in software development.
Building on the success of CWD Bootcamp, Glory conceptualized the Get Into Tech Africa initiative in January 2022. This program focuses on enabling African youths to become global change-makers by providing them with knowledge, clarity, and guidance in select career paths within the tech industry. The first program cohort, held from March to May 2022, featured 3,000 participants, 12 international experts, and 12 sessions covering 12 in-demand tech career paths. The initiative garnered widespread acclaim, positively impacting the lives of numerous African youths and paving the way for their success in the tech industry. The second program cohort is scheduled for the second half of 2023, promising an even more immersive experience to help African youths become job-ready and employable.
In addition to his own initiatives, Glory has been actively involved in international fellowships and mentorship programs. He serves as a mentor in the Savvy Fellowship, a global program for impact entrepreneurs, and was a member of the Mentors Guild in the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship program. These engagements reflect his commitment to empowering African entrepreneurs and youth in the tech sector.
Glory’s personal development journey has been instrumental in his career growth. He is a graduate of the Y Combinator Startup School and holds numerous professional certifications from reputable organizations such as AWS, Google, Hubspot, Acumen Academy, and IBM. By continually expanding his knowledge and expertise, he has become an all-round professional capable of guiding others in various aspects of business and technology.
Looking to the future, Glory envisions impacting 10,000 African youths and helping them build successful careers in tech by 2025. To achieve this goal, he plans to organize programs, conferences, and immersive bootcamps that will provide extensive learning opportunities and practical experiences for African youth. He is also actively building the Get Into Tech Africa Community, which already boasts over 2,000 members.
Despite his numerous professional endeavors, Glory recognizes the importance of maintaining a balance between work and personal life. He prioritizes his physical and mental well-being by engaging in activities such as reading, writing and playing the piano. He believes that a healthy mind and body are essential for sustained success and productivity.
In addition to his professional commitments, Glory is passionate about giving back to his community. He actively participates in philanthropic endeavours, supporting initiatives that promote education and entrepreneurship among underprivileged African youths. He believes that everyone should have equal access to opportunities and strives to create a level playing field for aspiring African tech enthusiasts.
