Go for regular check-ups to stay healthy, NGO, others tell women
Women have been urged not to neglect their health but go for regular medical check-ups to live a meaningful life no matter how busy they are.
A Consultant Family Physician at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Dr. Olufunmilayo Badru; a registered nurse, Mrs. Mariam Johnson; the convener of a non-governmental organisation (NGO), The Complete Woman, Tunrayo Falade and a host of healthcare professionals, gave the advice, at the weekend, during a free medical outreach organised by the NGO, in collaboration with the Women’s Fellowship, Chapel of Resurrection, UCH, with the theme: “Living a Healthy Life in Challenging Times.”
Badru urged women to take their health seriously.
Also, Falade, who warned women against neglecting their health, said: “We are opening their eyes on what they need to do. Women need to pay attention to how their body works. Regular medical check-ups should be a priority.”
The registered nurse and coordinator of medicals for the project said it was imperative to encourage women and sensitise them on the need for cervical screening.
