Gov. Yusuf submits N58B supplementary appropriation bill to Assembly

Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf has transmitted a sum of N58 billion 2023 supplementary appropriation bill to the state house of assembly.

The executive correspondent brought before the legislative plenary yesterday in

accordance with section 121 (a) and (b) of the 1999 constitution, sought the legislative deliberations and subsequent approval.

The supplementary budget is coming three months to the end of 2023 budgetary circle sought to upscale human and infrastructural development in the state.

The present administration had inherited the sum of N268 billion appropriation for 2023 signed by immediate past administration of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The supplementary appropriation will pass first reading on Tuesday after which it will be forwarded to house committee on appropriation for consideration.

Meanwhile, the plenary presided over by Speaker, Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore deliberated on the poor state of Mahuwa, Janguza Gari to Durum road, calling for urgent government intervention to safe lives of motorists plying the busy road.

The assembly also charged the executive arm of government to rescue the state Fire Service from acute shortage of vehicles and critical equipment to carry out their statutory mandate. The decision followed a motion moved by Hon Murtala Muhammad Kadage, Member representing Garko Constituency.
