Pro-Democracy group, the Natives, has thrown its weight behind President Bola Tinubu over his stance against economic saboteurs in the country.

Leader of the group, Olalekan Edwards, in a statement, also applauded the role played by the President in the emergence of Senator Godswill Akpabio as Senate President.

The group called on Tinubu to keep up the spirit of engagement, forthrightness and courage to free the country from its shackles.

The group said: “We wish to assure the President of our support in ridding the country of saboteurs internally and externally.

“Our eyes shall continue to be on every step you are taking to better our lives, and shall not relent in this onerous task.

“The Natives hereby commend and congratulate the President for the emergence of qualitative and capable leaders of the 10th National Assembly, Godswill Akpabio and Tajudeen Abbas.

“In barely two weeks in office, the President’s actions have startled both old and young, minorities and majority, naysayers and believers based on his decisive political will, which he demonstrated with the removal of fuel subsidy, and his ability to bring workers back to the negotiating table.”

“His choices of Chief of Staff (COS) and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) are fitting.

“We commend his ability to bring harmony among security agencies, engagement of stakeholders, historical bills he has singed and the support he has given to his party’s candidate at the parliamentary elections. Therefore, it is safe to say a new era is here.

“In just 15 days, Tinubu’s inclusiveness and deliberate strategy to elevate our lives in this country is appealing. By courage, compassion and commitment, he has set out to free our common heritage from those that held us back, and as he constantly bulldoze the way, this has clearly heightened our confidence.”

The group encouraged Tinubu to stay on course, saluting his doggedness and commended how he is daily translating his manifestos to reality.
