Group commends Saraki’s campaign against drug abuse

The Healthy Drugs Promoters Network (HEDPET) has commended Senate President Bukola Saraki and some northern elders for their support in the fight against drug abuse.

In an emergency meeting in Kano, yesterday, prior to a grand summit against drug abuse slated for Kano, tomorrow, the Senior Progra
mme Officer of the group, Comrade Hayatuddeen Balarabe, said: “What the Senate President is doing recently on drug abuse is a clear indication that the end has come of the menace.”

He said he was elated when he received information that the Senate President had indicated special interest in collaborating with critical stakeholders to address the menace. He described the news as a big step forward in the campaign and called on traditional institutions to support efforts at checking the abuse.
