Over 500 residents in the Agric area of Ikorodu in Lagos State have benefitted from the philanthropic gesture of Online Deliverance Prophetic and Prayers revival team (ODPP), a group under the Mountain of Fire (MFM) team.

The group, who lamented the economic situation of the country, stated that the gesture was to celebrate the birthday of the General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, who is 65 and his wife, Sade Olukoya, who celebrated their birthdays on July 15.

The event tagged: “Food outreach and Evangelism”, was held in an open arena and attended by members and non-members of MFM and those who practice other faiths.

The Guardian learnt that the attendees got 6.5kg of rice, 500 books written by Dr. Olukoya, among other items.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Regional of Overseer, South-south 7, Ikom, Cross State, Pastor Jesusina Morenikeji, said the effort was to emulate the humanitarian nature of Dr. Olukoya and reach out to the underprivileged.

Morenikeji promised that the project is not going to stop as the celebrants are still alive, and it will be improved upon to cater for larger numbers of the society every year.

He said the positive impact of the project goes beyond giving material things to the people but the spiritual blessings people received were of greater heights.

According to him, many people that gave their lives to Christ was a big achievement and God is going to record it in the accounts of the celebrants for their good deeds in the world.

An elderly man, who identified himself as John, said the foodstuffs meant a lot to him because it would go a long way in feeding his family.

A woman, Anna who claimed to be a widow, said she was just passing by in the area when she got wind of the project and decided to check what was happening at the venue.

Another woman, Funke who came all the way from Igbogbo, said she was called by a friend who she had earlier cried to for help due to the condition of her family.

“My friend knows quite well that my family and I are suffering because we have nothing to eat. When I was called to come over, I told my friend, I have no money for transport but she told me to go and borrow that she will give me money when I come thank God, I was not disappointed, I pray to God to continue to bless the celebrants and their children,” she said.
