Group gives bungalow to DPO in Abia State

A non-governmental organisation called ‘Emma Nwaka Foundation (ENF), which was founded by Senator Emma Nwaka, has donated a N6million bungalow it built to the Abia State Police Command to serve as the residence of the Isuikwuato Local Council Divisional Police Officer (DPO).

The fenced three-bedroom bungalow located at Amiyi Uhu is equipped with a standby generating set, security post, 24-hour running water among others.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Anthony Ogbizi, commended Senator Nwaka’s Foundation for the gesture and canvassed such buildings be provided for DPOs in the nation’s 774 local councils. Ogbizi, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Sagir Abubakar, assured the police would make the best use of the house.

Nwaka said that the focus of the foundation included youth empowerment, security, community development, healthcare among others .

He attributed the actualisation of the project to the donation of the land by one Mr. Paul Ihedioha, who he advised the police to appreciate for his magnanimity, saying: ” The house is now the police’s property…”
