With the recent execution of a Nigerian by Saudi Arabia for drug trafficking, a group, Youth Initiative for Drug Research, Information, Support and Education (YouthRise Nigeria) in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has sensitised Nigerian youths on the dangers of drug abuse.

Speaking at a sensitization programme held yesterday in Abuja, Tender Program Advisor and Program Manager, YouthRise Nigeria, Fisayo Alao noted that the reason for the program was to ensure that the drug in-take by youths is reduced which she said would not affect their productivity.

Alao said the effect of drugs has done no good to the society, adding that the organisation has not come to judge people that are taking the drugs but to help them stop.
