Group urges minister to release details of N9.4b DSO expenditure
Civil Society Network Against Corruption (CSNAC) has urged Minister of expenditure and payment to stakeholders on Digital Switch Over (DSO) stakeholders.
In a letter addressed to the minister last week, it asked the minister to provide details of how the N9.4b funds released to the stakeholders was spent to the public.
The letter titled: Request for information on the N9.4b approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) Act 2011 was sent to the minister last Monday
During the unveiling of the 13–man Ministerial Task Force on DSO in March 2021, Mohammed announced that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved N9.4 billion as outstanding payment to major DSO stakeholders.
In the letter signed by its Chairman, Olanrewaju Suraju, the group said the minister was expected to make public how the funds were spent, adding that its request was hinged on the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2021, which mandated public access to information.
“Nigerians have the right to know how the funds were spent. We are making the request in the public interest and in line with transparency and accountability in public administration.
