Aspirant for Kogi governorship, Dr. Sanusi Ohiare, has pledged to boost the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the state if voted into power in November this year.

Ohiare, who spoke to reporters, yesterday, in Abuja, shortly after being screened for the party’s primary, assured the people that he would generate wealth with the vast mineral resources that abound in the state.

The former Executive Director of Rural Electrification Agency (REA) also promised gainful employment opportunities to the teeming population.

“Kogi has some certain advantages. For instance, Rivers Niger and Benue used to be trade zones. So, we have plans to work with the Federal Government and private sector to build an inland port.

“The proposed project comes with a lot of other benefits and investments. We have a railway that currently runs between Itakpe and Warri. We want to connect it to Abuja, effectively to Kaduna and Kano and build an airport.

“The idea is to make Kogi logistics hub of the country,” he added.
