Two governorship candidates in the just-concluded elections in Akwa Ibom State, Architect Ezekiel Nya-Etok of the Young Democratic Party (YDP) and Mr. Iboro Otu of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP) have called on Nigerians to join in the fight against vote buying and voter intimidation in subsequent elections, describing such as a ‘cancer’.

This was contained in a statement signed by the duo and made available to journalists in the state, yesterday.

The statement read: “Nigeria’s democracy has entered another level and was being threatened. If Nigerians do not kick against this menace, which characterised the 2019 general elections, it would soon become an epidemic.
However, while the governorship candidate of YDP said he would embrace anybody sworn into office as the elected governor, his counterpart of the ANRP said he would challenge the governorship election at the tribunal.
