Gunmen have abducted Helen Odunubi, the proprietress of Excel Group of Schools in Ogun State.

Odunubi was abducted at about 1:00 p.m., on Friday, within the school premises.
The Guardian learnt that the incident occurred at Ogunsua Crescent in the Matogbun area of Agbado.

According to a source, trouble began when two women and two men drove an unregistered ash-coloured Toyota Sienna to the proprietress’ office.

Ayodeji, son of the 56-year-old victim, informed the police that the suspects forcibly took his mother and fled in the same vehicle.

As of yesterday, Odunubi’s whereabouts was unknown. Also, communication regarding ransom was established between the abductors and her family.

Confirming the development, spokesperson for Ogun State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, assured that collaborative efforts with local security outfits were underway to locate and rescue the victim.

Relatedly, a 29-year-old Thai national, Chotika Sabrit, was declared missing in the Makun Sagamu area of Ogun State.

Sabrit, an employee at Dragon Inn Restaurant and Spa, disappeared after leaving the company’s premises on Tuesday.

Her whereabouts are still unknown and no ransom demands have been made.
Reacting, Odutola said efforts were being made to locate the expatriate. She added that a language barrier exists because Sabrit can only communicate in Thai.
