Gunmen abducted two Chinese nationals, Sun Zhixin and Wang Quing Hu yesterday in Ebonyi State.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Odah Loveth, said the two kidnapped Chinese, both male, are staff of Tongyi Construction Company working on a road project in Ohaozara Local Government area of the state.

She said they were forcibly whisked away around 3:30pm on Wednesday by masked and armed men, adding that the state Police Command have dispatched officers to rescue the victims unhurt.

“The State Commissioner of Police (CP), Awoshola Awotinde, on receiving information of the kidnap, personally led a team to the Tongyi construction site located at Ivo River on the boundary between Ebonyi and Enugu states, where Zhixin and Hu were forcefully taken away.

“Men and officers of the force combed the area to track down the bandits but no result yet. Another team has been dispatched to move into the area to rescue the Chinese nationals unhurt,” she said.
