Unknown gunmen, weekend, hacked down a lawmaker, Sinimbalia Maigida, and his 65-year-old father, Titus Maigida, in Kanam Council of Plateau State.

Locals suspected that the attackers might be on a revenge mission because two months ago, a mad man killed two Fulani there.

A witness told The Guardian: “Knowing their (Fulani) attitude, probably they felt they should take a revenge in substitution because the victim is a person who owes nobody, who begs for nothing and a retired teacher who only minded his business.”

Sinimbalia was an elected lawmaker in the council before he was murdered.

At the burial, sympathisers described the sexagenarian as one of the finest gentlemen in the locality.
