Gunmen kill vigilante leader, 11 others in Warri, Jos

Unknown gunmen, in the early hours of yesterday, shot dead the leader of a vigilante group guarding the Marine Gate area of Warri, Delta State, identified as Wilson. He was left on the road in a pool of his own blood.
Due to the high crime rate in the area, the group patrols the Marine Gate and adjoining Enerhen axis between 6:00p.m and 6:00a.m.
However, residents woke up to see the bullet-riddled body of Wilson in the middle of the road, soaked in his own blood and covered with a polythene material.
Spokesperson for Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, told The Guardian that preliminary investigation indicated that the vigilante leader was killed elsewhere and dumped at the Marine Gate area.
He said investigation was still ongoing to unravel more facts surrounding the gruesome murder of the deceased vigilante leader.
Also, gunmen, on Sunday night, killed 11 persons in a deadly attack on Kulben Community in Kombum district of Mangu Local Council of Plateau State.
A community leader, who pleaded anonymity, told newsmen in Mangu town, yesterday, that armed Fulani Militia allegedly attacked the community.
He said the incident, which occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, left 10 people dead, while others were injured and property destroyed.
Also, Chairman of Mwaghavul Development Association Kombun District Mangu Local Council, Dr. Elisha Shwamut, said the incident occurred when the local vigilantes were on patrol.
Spokesperson for Plateau State Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Alfred Alabo, who confirmed the incident, said the attack happened on Sunday, and his officers are on it.
