Heirs Energies Limited and Renaissance Africa Energy Company have announced plans to explore further collaboration to support indigenous-led development in Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas sector.
The move follows a courtesy visit by Heirs Energies CEO Osa Igiehon to Renaissance’s leadership team, led by Managing Director Tony Attah. It marks the first formal engagement between the two companies since Renaissance completed its acquisition and entry into Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
“We are happy to connect with the leadership of Renaissance and congratulate them on their successful deal and transition,” Igiehon said. “As indigenous firms, we all have a duty to the continued development of the industry. The thinking and how we approach things will be different now, as we’re both indigenous companies committed to Nigerian excellence and driving unprecedented production growth.”
He described the collaboration as a natural fit based on shared objectives.
“Heirs Energies and Renaissance are closely linked, and we’re looking forward to continued collaboration that will not only benefit our companies but fundamentally reshape Nigeria’s energy landscape,” he said.
Attah, a former Managing Director of Nigeria LNG Limited, said the engagement was in line with Renaissance’s goal of working with local partners to increase production and development across the value chain.
“We are happy to connect and engage with Heirs Energies. This collaboration represents a significant step forward as we pursue our shared vision for the industry,” he said.
Both companies said they are focused on expanding indigenous participation, improving operational performance, and contributing to national energy goals. The meeting reflects an industry trend in which local firms are taking on larger roles as international oil companies divest and regulatory conditions shift in favour of domestic operators.
