The governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Mr. Olusola Oke, has said he alone, has the strategies to transform the state.

Oke made the disclosure in Akure yesterday in a statement by his Chairman, Media and Publicity, Mr. Kolawole Olabisi.

He said he had mapped out strategies to fast-track speedy development in the state.

The candidate told his supporters in Oniparaga community, in Odigbo Local Council area that the state was well endowed with natural and human resources to be an economic giant.

He said: “What I am promising the people is a real economic turnaround if they give me their support in the November 26 polls.”

Oke said it was unfortunate that the state had not grown beyond its reliance on monthly allocations from the Federal Government.

He promised to redirect the development of the state’s resources, especially its abundant natural and human resources.

The candidate explained that he had developed a database of the resources, which he would utilise to transform the economy.

He reiterated commitment to revamping the moribund industries to create employment for the youths.

The candidate said he was aware of the people’s needs, having visited the three senatorial districts several times.

He said: “I know the sufferings of the people because I am part of them. I have lived all my life in the state and have never travelled out for as long as six months.”

According to him, some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defected to the AD in some of the areas visited by the candidate at the weekend.

Oke said the new members would be given a level-playing field with older members of the party.
