Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the lead pastor of the Harvesters International Church, has disclosed fresh information about his arrest and the allegations against him.
The pastor told his congregation during a church service on Sunday that he was not arrested by the police but only invited to aid them in an investigation.
“I was not arrested. I was invited by the police to aid an investigation about a church member who had gotten into some trouble. I have written a bit about it in the press release I had sent out,” said the lead pastor.
He told his congregation that he would not reveal the identity of the church member whom the police were investigating because it could potentially ruin the lives of the person’s wife, children and relatives.
“I would love to say so much to you but remember the case is under investigation. A person is involved. The person has wives, children and relatives. I will let the police deal with their thing until my assistance is over and I can step aside,” he added.

Idowu had come under public scrutiny when the news of his detention by operatives of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) made rounds on social media on Tuesday.
It was alleged that the pastor, who is also known for hosting the Next Level Morning Prayers on YouTube, was involved in real estate fraud and money laundering.
He denied those allegations while preaching to his congregation during a church service on Wednesday and demanded that those with contrary claims stepped forward with evidence.
