Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West House of Representatives member, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide

The Elekunkun Idera Community in the Adeoyo, Ring Road area of Ibadan has commended the member representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, for facilitating the procurement of a 1,000KVA electricity transformer valued at ₦16 million, describing the intervention as a major boost to electricity supply and socio-economic development in the area.
The community also declared its support for the lawmaker’s aspiration to represent Oyo South Senatorial District in the Senate, pledging to mobilise residents in his favour ahead of the 2027 general election.

The commendation was contained in a letter of appreciation jointly signed by the Chairman of the community, Mr. Abimbola Adisa, and the General Secretary, Mr. Kayode Bakare.
According to the community leaders, the release of funds for the transformer would restore stable electricity supply to Elekunkun Idera and adjoining communities that have endured years of inadequate power supply.

The beneficiaries of the project include Zones 1 to 9 of Elekunkun Idera as well as the neighbouring Idiorogbo Community.
Describing the intervention as timely and impactful, the community said the project would bring lasting relief to residents, artisans, traders and business owners whose livelihoods had been affected by poor electricity supply.

The letter read in part: “We write on behalf of the entire Elekunkun Idera Community to express our heartfelt appreciation for your magnanimous gesture in providing an electricity transformer to our community.
“Your commitment to improving the welfare and infrastructure of the people is highly commendable. This intervention will bring immense relief to our residents, boost economic activities and restore steady power supply to homes and businesses. It is a clear testimony to your love for the people and your vision for development.”

The community said the project reflected Olajide’s commitment to responsive representation and grassroots development, assuring him of its support in the forthcoming senatorial election.
“In recognition of your good work and selfless service, we wish to assure you that the entire Elekunkun Idera Community will give you our total support for the Oyo South Senatorial District seat in the forthcoming election.
We believe in your capacity to represent us well in the Senate, and we will fully mobilise our people to work for your victory,” the letter added.

Responding, Olajide thanked the community for the recognition and confidence reposed in him, saying the transformer project was facilitated to address one of the community’s most pressing infrastructural challenges.
He assured residents that he would continue to facilitate projects and programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of people across Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west Federal Constituency and the wider Oyo South Senatorial District.

The lawmaker also pledged that, if elected to the Senate, he would pursue policies and attract developmental projects focused on infrastructure, youth empowerment, education, healthcare and inclusive economic growth across the nine local government areas of the senatorial district.
