Ibadan remains strategic to APM’s growth, says Rep

Allied Peoples' Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Adedeji Olajide

The member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, has described Ibadan as a strategic stronghold for the growth of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), ahead of the party’s statewide appreciation and consultation tour to the city.

Olajide, who is also the APM’s candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, said the choice of Ibadan as one of the key stops on the tour underscored the constituency’s contribution to the party’s expansion and stability in Oyo State.

The lawmaker spoke ahead of the visit of the party’s governorship candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, and his running mate, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, to Ibadan as part of their post-primary appreciation and consultation tour across the state.

The event, scheduled to hold at the Jogor Events Centre, is expected to attract party leaders, elected officials, candidates, ward executives, youth and women groups, as well as supporters of the party from across Ibadan North-West and Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, Olajide said the visit reflected the party’s commitment to strengthening internal cohesion, promoting inclusive leadership and consolidating grassroots support ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to him, the consultation tour provides an opportunity for party members and stakeholders to engage directly with the governorship candidate, exchange ideas and deepen the party’s mobilisation efforts across the state.

“We are delighted to welcome our governorship candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, and his running mate, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, to Ibadan North-West and Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency.

“Their visit is not only a demonstration of appreciation to party members but also an expression of the leadership’s commitment to inclusive consultation and grassroots participation as we prepare for the 2027 general election,” Olajide said.

He noted that the appreciation tour would further strengthen the bond among party members and reinforce the APM’s grassroots structures across the constituency.

Olajide called on party leaders, ward executives, youths, women and supporters to turn out in large numbers for the event, expressing confidence that the engagement would boost the party’s momentum and position it for improved electoral performance in the 2027 general election.

The statewide appreciation and consultation tour was initiated by the Adekanmbi/Salawu campaign team following their emergence as the APM’s governorship and deputy governorship candidates, with the aim of appreciating party faithful for their support during the nomination process and fostering greater unity within the party.
