Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has charged the government to engage its services for better results.

Its president, Comfort Eyitayo, made the appeal yesterday at the inauguration of the Lekki and District Society (LEDS). The event also featured the investiture of the pioneer chairman and the swearing-in of new executives.

She stated that as expert financial managers, the government should leverage their skills to grow national finances.

Eyitayo said fundamentals were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that the world was reset for a new beginning.

She stressed the need for economists and accountants to be creative, innovative and futuristic.

Pioneer chairperson, LEDS, Abidemi Olawumi, said the 70th ICAN District would ensure it promotes the institute’s programmes and encourages members to be committed.
