IDPs can access CBN loans, says governor

The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele has said Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in resettlement camps in Borno and Yobe states have the opportunity to get a maximum of N5,000 loan from the bank.
He disclosed this yesterday in Maiduguri while presenting relief materials to the Borno State government for the IDPs in camps and their host communities.
Emefiele, who was represented by the CBN Branch Comptroller, Ishaku Ibrahim, said the displaced persons can access the loans to improve their living condition in the camps before they return to their communities.
His words: “Other initiatives of the apex bank include the provision of funds for IDPs, which they can take advantage of. For now, many of the displaced persons taking refuge in various resettlement camps can borrow as much as N5,000 and below.
