Igbo are paying for not voting APC— Orji Kalu
Former Abia State Governor and now Senator for Abia North, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, yesterday, urged Ndigbo to come together and re-strategise towards returning to Nigeria’s mainstream politics. He said Ndigbo are suffering for not voting the All Progressives Congress (APC) that produced Muhammadu Buhari as President.
“Igbos are the salt of the nation. After the natives, Igbos are the next in population, wherever they reside,” he said.
Kalu spoke in his Camp Neya country home at Igbere in Benede Local Government Area during a thanksgiving rally, organised by his Campaign Organisation.
He said there was no reason for sidelining Ndigbo/Southeast zone, if they had embraced and voted for APC. He said though he was elected on APC platform, he would ensure that dividends of democracy were not denied the state or Ndigbo.
Decrying the ‘sorry plight of Ndigbo’ in today’s Nigeria, Kalu lamented this scenario, saying the Ndigbo is the largest ethnic group in the country and invests anywhere members reside.
“Igbos are the salt of the nation. After the natives, Igbos are the next in population, wherever they reside,” he said.
