Super Eagles star, Odion Ighalo, has visited his former street in Ajegunle, Lagos, where he also attended a street carnival.

Ighalo said he decided to return to the street where it all started for him before travelling to Abuja to join the Eagles’ camp ahead of next month’s African Cup of Nations.

Ighalo, who was just 17 years old when he left Nigeria, has not forgotten his roots.

The striker, who grew up in Ajegunle, reportedly spent about N500 million (£1m) to build an orphanage in Ijegun in 2017, a poverty-stricken suburb, close to Ajegunle.

It houses between 30 to 40 children and has separate apartments for boys and girls.
