IGP deploys 16 AIGs, 6 DIGs for governorship, assembly elections

In a statement signed by the Force public relations officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, Usman Gwary supervise operations in Abia State; Olufemi Adenaike will take charge of Kwara, while Joseph Mbu will will be in Ogun. AIGs Patrick Dokumor, Tambari Muhammed, Muhammed Abubakar and Ikemefuna Okoye will over see Kaduna, Jigawa, Gombe and Oyo State respectively.

IGP Suleiman Abba

The Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has approved the deployment of 16 assistant inspectors-general of police, six deputy inspectors-general of police and some commissioners of police to coordinate the activities of the men and officers of the Nigerian Police during the governorship and houses of assembly elections on Saturday.

In a statement signed by the Force public relations officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu,  Usman Gwary supervise operations in  Abia State; Olufemi Adenaike will take charge of Kwara, while Joseph Mbu will will be in Ogun. AIGs Patrick Dokumor, Tambari Muhammed, Muhammed Abubakar and Ikemefuna Okoye will over see Kaduna, Jigawa, Gombe and Oyo State respectively.

Tunde Ogunsakin is mandated to take in the volatile Rivers State, while Jubril Adeniji, Yerima Irimiya, Baba Adisa Bolanta and Lawal Tanko will be in Bauchi, Imo, Akwa Ibom and Lagos States respectively.

AIG Ballah Nasarawa moves to Benue, Musa Abdulsalam Daura will be in charge of Edo, Aderele Shinaba in Plateau, while Bala Hassan will operates from Sokoto.

In the same vein,  the IGP has also deployed four Commissioner of Police Sam Okuala, E.J Ibine, `damu Mohammed and Valentine Ntomchukwu to Anambra, Ekiti, Enugu and Osun States respectively.

Besides, a Commissioner of Police has been deployed to command each of the Senatorial Zones of Gombe, Bauchi, Imo, Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Benue, Edo, Plateau and Sokoto.

For Rivers State, the following Special Units of the Nigeria Police Force have been deployed to address security concerns. These are; 32 Units of Police Mobile Force (PMF), 4 Units of Counter terrorism Units (CTU), 4 Units of Special Protection Units (SPU) and 6 Crack Teams of Detectives from Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) and complements of Intelligence officers.
