
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has reportedly presented the rescued medical students to the Vice Chancellor of Benue State University.

The 20 medical students and their accompanying doctors were abducted on August 15 while en route to a medical convention.
According to police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, the victims were “rescued tactically and professionally” without any ransom payment, contrary to speculation and rumors circulating on social media.

The abductors had demanded a ransom of ₦50 million from the victims’ families, but the police and other security agencies worked together to secure their release without paying any money.
