Ikpeazu plans to evacuate Abia students from UNIJOS
Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has dispatched a team to the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Plateau State, to evacuate students of Abia origin who are currently stranded as a result of the recent violence and subsequent closure of the institution.
The state’s Information Commissioner, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, who disclosed this in a statement, yesterday, said that the Special Assistant on Students Affairs to the Governor, Mr. Chibuzor Ndom, would lead the evacuation team, which includes security personnel.
According to the commissioner, the team is tasked to ensure the safe return of the over 200 students of Abia origin.
