Ikpeazu will resume duties soon, says deputy
Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, who recently tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), will soon return to duty, his deputy, Ude Chukwu, said yesterday.
Speaking on the 21st anniversary of the return to democratic governance in Nigeria, Chukwu said, “I am in constant touch with Governor Ikpeazu and he is in good spirits. He is only observing the mandatory isolation period prescribed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for those who test positive for coronavirus. At the end of the mandatory isolation period, our dear governor will return to full duty to continue to steer the affairs of Abia.”
He commended the governor for his transparency with his health status and assured him of the prayers and support of the people of Abia for his speedy recovery.
