ILO seeks end to child labour
The International Labour Organisation (ILO) has called for a renewed commitment from all actors in Nigeria for the elimination of child labour and their protection in the workplace.
At the launch of the Nigeria National Consultation Workshop for the Elimination of Child Labour yesterday in Abuja, ILO Director, Dennis Zulu, recollected that in 2017, the global body supported the Ministry of Labour to review the existing legal framework in the protection of working children in the country where it spotted some lapses in the workplace.
He added that the Netherlands-funded project was informed by the commitment of the Nigerian government to end the menace.
