‘I’m in Bauchi governorship race under APC’- Buba

The Senator Representing Bauchi State South has said he is contesting the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship  ticket in Bauchi State against the 2027 election.

Buba said this in Bauchi while meeting with Shura Council of Muslim Parliament and APC stakeholders and his supporters, saying that the party has not produced any consensus candidate for the position of governor.

The Senator expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu, believing that the party would ensure a level playing field for all aspirants.

He called for strict adherence to democratic principles, urging the APC leadership to conduct free, fair, and transparent primaries. He emphasised that party stakeholders should be allowed to choose candidates based on merit and capacity according to the rules of the party.

He commended the Imams for their support to educate their followers to obtain their voters card ahead of the 2027 general election.

The lawmaker donated N10,000,000 to support the activities of the organization.

He appealed to party members and supporters to remain calm amid ongoing speculations, assuring them of his continued commitment to the contest.

Senator Shehu Buba said all major stakeholders and gubernatorial aspirants from the party are united.

In his contribution, special adviser media to the Senator Comrade Sabo Mohammed said the aim of the meeting is to congratulate the newly elected state executive, seek for unity and assure supporters that he is still in the race and is fully committed to win the Party Governorship ticket.

Comrade Sabo said the Senator has been called by the majority of the people of the State to contest for the seat because of his sterling exemplary leadership qualities.

The Chairman of the Council, Sheikh Yusuf Abdullahi Jahun, commended the imams and clerics for attending the meeting and commended Senator Buba for executing development projects.

Sheikh Yusuf lauded Senator Buba for his representation of the people of Bauchi South, citing his charitable works and support for the people of Bauchi State as a whole.
